This is an illustration I did with children’s book type of illustration in mind. I tried to incorporate a lot of textures into the whole piece to give it depth and interest. The shapes of the leaves were created using a lot of brushwork using watercolors and black India ink.

This illustration is actually about psychedelia, and the title is actually based on the movie “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” which, in English, translates to “Fear and Loathing in the Meadows.”
This illustration was inspired by the children’s classic “Wind in the Willows,” a story about the struggle between people who want a peaceful and genteel kind of life, and those who like the noisy, chaotic lifestyle most people have today.

This is the only illustration I have created using Corel Painter. I wanted to try out the program and so I installed a trial version that came with the driver installer CD of my graphic tablet. I played with the brushes and the program’s different effects. After getting the desired look and feel, I imported the file into Ps and applied some finishing touches.
